The original photo was from 126 film, C41 process. 40 years ago to the day, my best mate and I convinced a helicopter pilot to take us for a spin over our small country town. Today I printed a B&W print of us standing in front of the chopper (hence posting this in the B&W forum). It's a testament to the power and longevity of film photography that after all these years one can re-create great memories.

See if it was digital the format could not have been viewed or printed with today's PCs and since the files would not have been refreshed, the image would not be viewable because the zeros would have moved above the zero upper threshold and the ones would have dropped below the ones threshold making it unreadable even with a no longer available computer without the software that does not exist.

All in all another example of analog photography over digital fauxography.

A neighbor of mine recently received some old family negatives that had been stored for over 50 years. He had no idea who was in these photos, but asked if I could make some prints for him as he was dying to see them. From the dress and style, it looks like these are from the late 1910's - 1920's. All are 4x5 or 3.5x4.5 negatives, and are in amazingly good condition for about 90 years old. I did a basic cleaning of the negs and just made straight contact prints in the darkroom. I would imagine these were taken with Kodak folding or box cameras, but some of the images were surprisingly sharp, especially in the center.
