I've owned a couple of Berlebach tripods over the years, you'll love it. I let mine go only because I'm old and down sizing my gear load.

Hi,

good choice! I used it with a 4x5" Technika without problems.
The column could be reversed to take close-up pictures close to the ground (but not all 3xxx models offer that).

Jens
Thanks Jen, it's actually sort of similar to the carbon fibre Benro C474T tripod I have that has the steps up top to make it go low to the ground

I own two Berlebach's... a Report 3002 and a Report 4012.
I've had them a long time. Years ago I owned a retail store called 'Big Camera Workshops' selling gear for LF. I sold a lot of wood tripods and had them custom stained in a dark brown that matched the Ebony cameras I was selling. I used my tripod with my 8x10 for years and have a camera sitting on one of them right now. I think they're great.
If I was purchasing a new one today, I would get the one with the center column just because it's easier to make small vertical adjustments with that model.

Look at those scales on the legs. That’s brilliant! I wish all tripods had something like that.

My Berlebach Report is my go-to tripod for almost anything. Sets up quick and often gets comments on its appearance. Yea- the scales on the legs are super handy too.

I have owned a Report tripod from Berlebach for about 12 years now. Very pleased with it. I have one with integrated ball joint in the tripod, so it can basically be used without tripod head, and still allow for some leveling adjustments if needed. Excellent for a large format camera, but this is still on my wish list.
I have bought a carbon tripod for daily photography work however because of the weight of the Berlebach. Very good for stable shots, but not so good for hiking.
It is very beautiful indeed, and even after years of good work it still looks good. I also have the 3-way head from Berlebach (previous generation) which is equally good (and heavy). I twice broke a handle from this tripod head, the company twice sent me a new one without cost! (they are designed differently now and sturdier.

the tripod is beautiful......as a working photographer it does impress people when you set it up...it's part of the exponentially growing appreciation of 'film' with the younger clients and older alike.....tripods like these serve up the 'artist at work' thing people love.....the BIG picture for me in all this is that film is always available to us.....and if that means social media use etc we must all do it
