Just got my Ebay 4x5!!

I won this camera a week ago and it just arrived. I really like it! I'll see how well it performs soon. Here it is.

I got it, as you can see, for 67.90 plus 16.65 shipping!!
It has Leather bellows and a Zeiss lens. It does look as though the original owner was a smoker,Brown stuff everywhere. It's cleaning up nice though.
As soon as I get some film, I'll post some of the first shots.

Was that you who won? I was watching it and was amazed at the price. It looks like its about as heavy as a Chevy truck.
I'd love lot see a before and after picture after you clean it up. That'll be real nice.

Actually its around 7.5 pounds. My Speed Graphic is 5 pounds. Not too much more. I'll give it a good cleaning and post the pics.

Great deal for the price. After you clean it make sure you check for light leaks. There are a small LED lights available with a short twisty neck. Very bright and small enough to be able to get into the tight corners. Enjoy your new toy.

I had one of those in excellent shape with the front screw-in extension rails. A very nice and under-rated camera IMHO.

I sold it here to Mr. Wooten who is making a frankenstein from it..

It should clean up nicely and last a long long time. Is the bellows light tight? For the price it's a deal, I'm surprised that it is not heavier. Have fun with it!

That's a steal, even though it looks like the camera could use more than a thourough cleaning.
My first LF lens was a Zeiss Tessar too
As long as the shutter opens and closes on demand, you can make pictures.

I have the Brand press camera version of the same camera. The Band has a handle for hand holding it and sports finder, all metal with the same focusing screw system. I think the Brands were made in the 40s. Some one told me years ago that New View bought out Band and made a number of view camera's though out the 50s. I keep mine in a cooler along with several film holders loaded with HP 5 (only in the winter) in the back of my SUV. Not as portable as a speed or crown, but lots more movement.

I have a Nu-View/Brand myself with an itty bitty Zeiss Tessar too ! I gave about $150 for mine on fleabay and was going to give it away (less shipping) right here on APUG to a member wanting to get into 4x5 on the cheap-It came in a nice case with a gob of accessories (that's why I bought it and the 240 Heliar that came with it too and 4 or 5 RolleFlexi filters!!) Has about six loaded filmholders of ????--Should I get those processed as I'm really curious!!

I had one of those too in the early 80's, although the view version. I ran into someone at the camera show where I bought it, who said he used to carry one around in some dicey areas of NY City back in the 50's or 60's. As those things looked even heavier than they were, noooooo-one ever bothered him. (Although, as I recall, this guy would be as formidable with a Minox.) I think mine had a 16 in. bellows draw, so I could have used just about anything over 100mm on it. Sadly it only had a 135m Optar mounted before this idiot traded it for what turned out to be an almost used-up Prinz folding field.

I use a 150 and a 210 without any issues. From the wide stand point I dont think it take a lens wider than a 90mm. I bought mine in the mid 80s at a swap meet here in Phoneix, it came with the uncoated 135 Zeiss, I had the Zeiss coated at an one hour eye glass shop, UV and anti glare, but the most part iI use a Kodak 127mm and a Wollensak 135mm for wide. For most field work I still use my Crown, just so portable. But the all metal camera is great for the back of the SUV.
