The title says it all. Kodachrome is in stock right now at B&H. $11.20 per roll.

Attn: Moderators;

I wish we could just PM this info among each other to help prevent ebay scalpers from seeing this and buying it up.

You know, I just ordered 3 rolls. I'm tight on cash but I had to go for it. I was so happy to see that they ran out shortly after and now this??? Can't this wait until AFTER payday? :D

Are you a regular kodachrome shooter, or an enthusiast of the things that are happening with kodachrome today ( IE kodachrome project ) ?

If not, then you shouldnt be, and thats perfectly fine.

If you are, i find that pretty ridiculous, considering that these ebay scaffolders ( sp? ) are driving up the prices of kodachrome, and at the end of all this K14 madness there will be tons of wasted kodachrome that will never be shot.

Google " Kodachrome in stock ".

This thread, fourth result down.

Being one of these scum bags* would be so easy.

*Im sure that they arent all scum bags.

No, no.

And it does not bother me. I still have two rolls of HIE that I plan to shoot soon. I could have sold them for a killing.

I suspect that film scalpers are perfectly capable of watching B&H etc directly & are unlikely to be relying on apug threads to alert them. Any scalper worth their salt would have laid in their Kodachrome stock a while back anyhow.

The Google spider passes through every 12 hours, it seems.
Be careful what you announce...

Agreed. It doesn't matter how the information is disseminated; somebody, somewhere is going to find out no matter what. It's not like Kodachrome is kept from public view on B&H's website.

I agree with all of this, but these posts don't exactly help.

Can we please reply to other posts in the sub-section in order to push this one down a bit at least?

Why would the scalpers be searching forums when they could do what I did, just have B&H auto-email me when it was back in stock? I got the email at 7:18pm CST and placed my order within minutes.

How would "pushing it down" accomplish anything?? It will still pop up when one hits new posts.

Now, if we had thought police that controlled the internet ...

I got word late and just went to the B&H site a few minutes ago, but KR is still in stock. I ordered four rolls, which is all I expect to be able to shoot for the type of photography I do, especially since it's $13 plus shipping for processing on top to the $11.20 film price.. I also have 4 rolls on back order from Adorama and if they ever get shipped to me, I'll have more than I need and maybe try to find a good home for them before time runs out.

Regards,

Why would they rely on forum threads to "alert" them? How about getting the same email from B&H that the person who started this thread probably got? How about several other ways? If I were to do that, I hope I could come up with something better than hitting refresh on the APUG new posts page waiting to find out who has Kodachrome.

I'm not a big fan of the scalpers either, but it doesn't bother me for someone to announce this. I'm quite confident that what we do will not affect these dealers getting their hands on a stock of Kodachrome.

OT somewhat. Are we to expect your user name change to come?

Gosh, sorry if I offended anyone. I posted this HERE only. To APUG members. The intent was to help people in this community, to give them a heads up if they wanted to buy the film. I really can't believe people are upset about that.

I'm puzzled by the negative response.

As stated numerous times already, if people wanted Kodachrome, they could have just had B&H notify them. If they didn't, too bad for them. Kodak made a fairly public announcement for once, so people have had ample warning. As of right now, it appears there is still plenty available. And several other places are expecting shipments shortly.

Scalping is just supply and demand, just like the rest of the U.S., and most of the world. Do you think you buy anything "at cost"? The market will charge what the market will bare. If people don't think Kodachrome is worth $40 per roll, they won't pay $40 per roll. If they really wanted it, they should have just ordered it. If people were hoarding food, medicine or shelter, that might be different. It's film, people, just film. Unbunch the underwear and order what you think you'll use. Or order 50 extra rolls and bet on the market.

How about HIE?

Steve

I have >50 frozen 35mm rolls, 2 100' (or is it 150'?) rolls of 70mm, and 4 boxes of 25 of 4x5 of HIE, all frozen since purchase. Maybe I'll sell them just to drive people here nuts . . .
