I got excited when I found this posted on Facebook, and I immediately
jumped over to the Kodak site. Just to see what festivities they had planned.

NOTHING !!! ... That's A Sad Situation

Thank you very much for posting this. I agree it's sad there's no mention on Kodak's website.

I did not know that George Eastman killed himself after living two years with intractable pain. That is sad too.

One of the better kept secrets; it is probably the reason he was buried on company property rather than in Rochester's Mount Hope Cemetery.

He was quite a man. He left ALL of his money to various charities -- MIT, Eastman School of Music -- much of it with attempted anonymity. And he certainly left behind a legacy. I think he would be quite sad to see what has happened to his company.

What amazing contributions. I am quite sure he is giving them the DIGIT.

Great entrepreneur and noble man.

Interesting that notwithstanding the suicide he had a religious funeral service. I thought that at the time was not performed a religious function for suicide people (as absurd as that might be).

I just read George Eastman by Elizabeth Brayer. Johns Hopkins Press 199?. Interesting book that is well written and complete with hundreds of documented references.

I highly recommend it.
