Returning to a analogue after a long break, c20 years, interspersed by point and shoot photography, and recently more serious (and expensive) digital cameras. Been watching since joining, reading the many tips along the way.
Alongside my M240, I've recently acquired an M6 which is happy sharing the same glass. Up to now I've been using a local lab for D&P, but I'm not impressed with the lack of care taken during proceeding, scratches etc, so my intention is to do my own B&W film processing and take it from there with printing (unfortunately there's little chance of setting up a darkroom due to space limitations, so I will either scan and print, or entrust the printing to a reputable lab).

Welcome Steve!

Start your developing ASAP - once you do you'll realise how much better it is than getting it done at the local lab.

When I first joined here I had just started developing black and white film in my kitchen sink, but now I have a second bedroom in my apartment done up as a full-time (dry) darkroom.

Welcome to APUG

Thank you all for the warm welcoming to APUG.

If I could turn back time I would not 'invest' in digital cameras - especially those with more buttons than a 747!

welcome! once you start developing your films and get control over your result you will not look back.

Thank you, and yes I remember from my youth the magic of opening the tank and viewing the freshly developed images, also prints appearing in the development tray under the safety light. Sadly I'm not in a position to set up a darkroom, so I'm unlikely to have total control of the overall process, but at least I will have control over the negs.
