Lecture by John Sexton

When: Thursday, October 23rd, 2008, at 7:00 pm

Where: Fresno Art Museum’s Bonner Auditorium, 2233 N. First St., Fresno, Ca.

Spectrum Art Gallery is hosting John Sexton for an educational, informative, and entertaining audio-visual presentation, as he shares his images and insights covering his more than 30-year photographic career.
Known for his elegant, finely crafted, large format black and white photographs, Sexton prefers to photograph the quiet message of the natural environment. This all-new presentation will include many images from John’s most recent book, Recollections: Three Decades of Photographs.
The talk will also include examples and anecdotes drawn from his six-year close working relationship with Ansel Adams as Adams’ Photographic and Technical Assistant, and later as his consultant. Images by both Sexton and Adams will be transformed on the screen from the negative to the final print, progressing through the various creative steps in the evolution of an expressive photographic print. . Sexton will be available to sign copies of his book, Recollections, following the lecture.
