John Londei has this interesting collection of work called The Shops Project:

Seventeen years in the making, The Shops Project is a series of photographs of fast disappearing shops and shopkeepers, taken in their shops all over the UK. The series numbers over 60 shopkeepers. A selection is shown in the Shops Gallery. Shot on a large format 10x8 plate camera, they are essentially portraits: a definitive tribute to a vanishing era, and published as a book called ‘Shutting Up Shop’.
