Jobo Uni tank combo: 1540 + 1520

Hi guys,

I got those two attached and it says I can have a total of 6 reels, but do i need a middle rod that fits that combo exactly? Right now I've only got the smaller middle rod for the 1520. Thanks in advance.

Yes you do need the extension center tube, otherwise light will reach the reels when you pour in the chemicals as the tube forms part of the light seal. Are you using a Jobo rotary processor? If so, even if you get the chemicals in without fogging the film, without the rod the reels will float about and development is likely to be uneven. It might work for inversion processing, but it will take a lot of chemical to ensure all the film is covered. Hope this helps!

Thanks! So I have to find a center tube that is big enough for that combo? Are there all kinds of sizes? Let me know.

I am guessing what you have is actually a 1520+1530 extension module (which might have a 1540 label on it). In any case you need the following core:
