My CPE-2+ is in need of repair to the rack that holds chemical bottles for heating and the rotation motor. I'm keeping CatLabs as a last resort due to shipping and repair costs.

The plastic rack may be repairable with epoxy or fibre-glass.

The motor will be more problematic since they're no longer made. Try the auction site for a spare if you're willing to have a go yourself.

The rack itself, aside of cementing it, may be substituted by a thick sheet of ABS or PVC plastic with the respective openings sawn out.

Another vote for fibre-glass and epoxy.
None of the Jobo patches I did this way failed. Even after many years.

Rotation motor for CPE2 plus is: Bosch Part Number 0 390 206 692 Mercedes-Benz Part Number 003 820 21 42
Here is a thread with more details: https://www.photrio.com/forum/threads/a-jobo-issue-a-stalling-motor.89851/print

I ordered used motor on eBay. There are quite few listed at the moment as well. It's W124 Mercedes headrest motor.
Should be able to find it at junkyard.

The rack is very annoying. You can buy a new one and break it, or you can repair it. I would inquire with Catlabs. Maybe time to trade in for a new one. Catlabs has all kinds of bits and pieces.
I wouldn't be getting a wiper motor from a Benz that's run 300,000 miles .

Call Catlabs see what's the best option.

Hello: I emailed Catlabs yesterday and they don't do service or repairs and a new motor has to be ordered from Jobo at $ 198.00 U.S. plus tax, shipping and handling. I guess I'll have to save up to either buy the motor or find a less expensive processor.

Don't remember when I needed to adjust height of headrest in my car.
Usage can be estimated to be low even after 1 million miles.
If there are any issues with it, it would be from age and lack of use. Might need a cleaning if it doesn't work well.
Not sure if these are active part numbers now. Might be all new old stock and have the same issues.

There are also new ones available from auto parts suppliers on eBay and elsewhere.

I don't know what your volume usage on your Jobo is, but I know that if for some reason mine were to experience a catastrophic failure (or my house would burn down and it melted into a puddle of red and black plastic goo), I would be able to justify the cost of a brand new CPP3. If you have to send your film to a commercial lab, it's going to run you between $10-15 a roll. God knows what they would charge for sheet film, especially if you have odd size like 5x12. At 100 rolls a year (and I can run more than that on a busy year if I travel), plus the inconvenience factor of having to go to the lab to drop off and pick up the film, the Jobo CPP3 would pay for itself in saved lab fees in about 3-4 years, and then last me for another 25-30 easily. So dropping $200 on a replacement motor is silly cheap by comparison, and should be a no-brainer.

you can obtain a black epoxy which is made for repair of boats, which is extremely tough, brand name Marine Tex. Comes a a 2-part that you mix...any fractional quantity of a full package can be mixed, as needed.
Just do online search for the item, and you will find it at marine supply retailers; one retailer that has it and does mail order is called West Marine, a very prominent retailer on the West Coast US.
(edit: I just checked and you can get it thru Amazon.)
