Hi all,

I have acquired a Jobo forced film washer for rinsing my films.

Could anyone tell me whether it would be possible to use it for removing remjet after pre-bath when developing ECN-2 films?

Since the remjet removal reqires strong water flow, the water pressure in the hose should help a lot in removing the remjet.

I can't say whether it'd remove the remjet, but as it works with an interference fit into the top of the Jobo tank, the water pressure will try and force the nozzle out of the tank if it's too high and if the nozzle isn't secure.

No. The flow of water will not be sufficient to remove the remjet. You can remove much of it by putting a dilute solution of sodium carbonate into the tank and then shaking vigorously. Repeat this twice of so, and 90% of the remjet will be gone. You can then fairly easily remove the remaining remjet after processing by putting the film into a tray of warm water with half a tablespoon of sodium carbonate dissolved in it and using a soft brush on the backside of the film. Make sure not to get any remjet on the emulsion side as it'll be very difficult to remove there. If some finds its way on there, you can gently rub that part between thumb and forefinger underwater in the lukewarm carbonate bath until it's clean.
