Hi all,
I just finished using a Jobo 3010 for the first time on my diy rotary processor thingamabob and had a question or 2.

1- I only loaded 1 sheet of film as my first test. noticed when I was done, sheet was not in the slots anymore, had came out, still in the cylinder though. Is this a thing? did i not load it deep enough in the cylinder maybe?

2- After all the reading of the foot pump, lid blowing off yada yada. I just had to put my fingers on the edge and pull up a few times. Is my lid loose? I didnt see the built up pressure ive read about. Sheet shows no proof of light leaks or anything, so it is light proof.

Thank you very much.

The film should stay put if you have it positioned correctly against the raised ridges. I don't recall ever having it come out. With two sheets in there you could end up ruining both if they come out.

It sounds like your lid is worn well enough that you can remove it easily. As long as it holds water, stays together while in use, and doesn't leak light you should be good. But it's not normal for an expert drum lid to come off so easily.

What L Gebhard said about how the film sheets sit is correct.

I found that the Expert Drum lids fit very tightly and the lid removal pump is necessary. I have been very happy with the 3010 for years and it is the best development system for sheet film. Before I started with trays and worked my way up to better and better tanks until I used the 3010. The cost is worth it considering how much I have used it and how consistent and well developed the film has been.

Understood. Mainly the reason why I went with it. As I said my lid is not as tight as you mention. That's what you get for buying used, although I payed pennies co.pared to what they cost these days.
Regardless, after developing a few sheets, does not leak and is light proof, so it's working. I'll run with this tank and bite the bullet if it ever shows signs of being too loose.

thank you guys for your input
