I tried trays and then many tanks starting with the Yankee tank and I have problems with all of them. FreeStyle's store policy allowed me to return them in 30 days and I kept trading up. Finally I got the Jobo 3010 Expert Drum and all the problems went away. I always get great consistent results. I highly recommend this drum.

Way back in the 1960s, in shooting 4x5 film with a field camera for my high school newspaper, the darkroom did not have a tank for processing sheet film. We did 4x5 film simply in the dark in a tray, continuously bring film from the bottom of stack and immersing it on the top of the stack. Royal-X Pan, ASA 1250. Never did have processing issued in doing it this way.

BTW 5X7 folks; The 3010 drum works great for doing 5 sheets of 5X7 or 5X8
