I’ve got an odd issue i’m trying to trace down where condensation makes its way into the control unit of my jobo CPP2.

I’m careful with pouring my chemistry, and studiously avoid any water spilling on the controls, and yet it still somehow gets in. This makes me think the unit has a leak of some sort, but I can’t identify where.

Does anyone else have experience with this sort of problem? I can get through a few batches of C-41 or an evening of RA-4 before I need to disassemble the control unit and let it dry out.

I shall answer my own question; on the water pump, opposite the through-hole for the pump thermometer, there is another hole. On my CPA it is filled with a stopper, here on my CPE it looks like this stopper came unglued (I can see the residue) and escaped, where to I cannot say.

When the pump runs, water bubbles just to the top, occasionally spilling over which I assume is enough to cause a buildup over time.

Show us a photo please.
I have a well used CPP2, I bought it used, it was in terrible shape. I spent a few days cleaning and adjusting. Works great last I used. I purchased a CPP3 as a retirement gift to myself a couple years ago, this is what I use now.

I was always wondering about water, even with the new machine.

Best Regards Mike

Yes, as a user of CPP2 for 15+ years now, it'd good to see a photo so I know what to watch out for! Thanks
