I've finally broken w/tradition, and purchased a JOBO ATL-3 on eBay for a decent price. Didn't come with very much, so had to bid on tanks/reels from another seller.

Anyway, up till now (or at least until everything arrives), I've always used hand developing w/Patterson tanks and have had no problems. But now I am going to start a processing business, and it just makes sense.

Just to make sure, this has to be "hard-wired" to H/C water outlets, right? I'm going to do mostly b&w and E6, to keep it cost-effective until I can (hopefully one day) afford a 2nd machine.

Any advice, warnings, things to look out for, etc is appreciated.

Thanks,

The ALT-3 is a nice machine. Yes, you'll be hooking it to a hot and cold water line. You'll also need a mixed water line that you set a different temps for prewetting and rinsing. It's smart to filter that line. The other two go to the water jacket so it's not necessary. You can do quite a lot of volume with the Alt-3, because it has two banks of 1800ml bottles.

If you need a manual for the unit I'll copy mine for you, if you don't mind covering the copying cost and postage.

If you do any plumbing, you can build your own mixing/tempering set-up.

The water lines are flex hose types not like copper pipe. There are three versions of the ATL 3 (table, counsole, console with 220 point-of-use "boiler" /hot water tank. You location is where? I have a box of new bottles, and a box of used bottles; the user manual and the service manual, and the 15 Liter storage tanks. John Leung of Singapore is interested but I think shipping even light weight things may be too costly from 98360

Was just thinking of having a back-up, in case the machine should go down for any length of time.

I'm @ zip 77703. How much for your items including shipping? This is great, because the unit I'm getting, doesn't have all the bottles, and that fact completely slipped my mind until I read your post. Plus it doesn't come with the service manual either.

Thanks!

$15 each manual: "use", "service"
$50 box new bottles
$15 box used bottles
$5 each for 15 liter storage tanks

You pay shipping which because of light weight shouldn't be terrible. Manuals could be sent as Media at book rate but is slower. Have photos but would need an e-mail address.

Also: hopefully you'll have the volume of work to justify running two at once. I worked at a lab that had just one, so I know. Dean
