It is extremely difficult to get a less problematic, more lienar curve with that film. It is only possible with two measurements:
1) Exposing in the EI 40 to 100 range.
2) Using a developer which produce a strong linear curve, like DD-X or ADOX HR-DEV.

But using this film in that speed range rises the question: Why not use Delta 100, TMX, Acros II, CHS 100 II or HR-50 instead?
All these films give
- much better resolution
- much better sharpness
- much finer grain
- much better characteristic curves = better tonality.
And all these advantages mostly at much lower prices, too!!

There is really no reason to use this Street Pan film. It has only disadvantages. You are ripped off. Period.

the purpose of this thread is not to make public attacks, so if you don’t mind, refrain from doing so. It’s best to keep in mind that any problems you may have may or may not be a problem for other people. Just because the characteristic curve doesn’t match up with what you consider usable doesn’t mean somebody else won’t find a use for it.

I have only reported my test results.
And my experience and opinion on the circumstances of this film.
That is what a forum is for.

again, publicly throwing somebody under the bus is not welcome here. You say you extensively tested this film. OK. Post that information, or post a link to it so that others can look at it and make their own evaluation.I posted the information I have so that others can make an informed decision based on the emulsion itself. Whether the film itself is useful to others is up for them to decide. Not me, and not you. How you feel about Mr. Hunt and Co. or how this film should be used is pretty irrelevant.

I can give you my sensitometric values if you want. No problem at all. They are very much in-line with yours, by the way. Will come in the next days, when I am back at home. Currently I am on a business travel.

Maybe some of my information about the circumstances and background of this film may not interest you. But I know from my long time here on photrio it is of interest for most of the other members.
And all members and passionate film photographers have the right to get the whole truth about the films offered to them.
That is one of the big strengths of photrio: Independent and critical expert knowledge. And not the permanent marketing misinformation which is presented on other internet sources.

it is possible to convey your experience without going on the attack. The reason why I even responded is because I was recently private messaged about this emulsion with a pretty scathing attack, and a significant part of your original post on this thread is pretty close to a copy/paste of a pretty significant part of what I was PMed, which raises a whole lotta questions for me in terms of motivation, therefore, if you can, keep it simple, keep it objective.
