Hey all,
My name is Dan. I'm currently a student at Pasadena City College, with plans to transfer to the Art Center College of Design (I'm a photography major) within a year or so from now. If that wasn't a run-on sentence, I don't know what is
. Moreover, I'm here to learn as much as I can from as many sources as I can(PE especially
).
Background:
I started with dig!t@l, but have migrated to film through a friend of mine. I saw him rummaging through 6x7 contact sheets one day, and being absolutely flabbergasted by the size of the negs (and having never seen a contact sheet from any size negative before) I was immediately hooked!
That was 3 years ago, and since then I've been a little unwise with a lot of my finances
, and have accumulated a RZ67 II with 3 lenses, have added (4) 120 backs, a motor winder and soon(when I can afford it) a AE Prism II.
I now shoot film 95% of the time (other 5% is digi p&s), and prefer Portra NC and Ektachrome films. For b/w its usually TMY-2 or Acros 100.
But as of now, I'm really enjoying getting back to 35mm (after picking up a little Minolta AF p/s). Loading it up with some tri-x(got a good deal on 2 100' rolls for $5 each) and a pocket of batteries/film, I've been enjoying myself this summer
.
If you have any more questions, please PM me, I'm on here quite a bit lately
. LOTS of information to soak up! Call me a nerd(like my sister does), but I can't get it out of my head! I eat, sleep and breathe photography!
