Well done Matt, I hope it is well attended and that you enjoy the experience, not least your talk.

Congratulations Matt. Let me offer what Murray sent to me almost a year ago.
It was a very moving experience. Treasure and enjoy the moment.

Hey John, thanks for that! We spew our dribble into cyberspace never knowing if anything is going to stick...what a treat to have something like that come back from so long ago

Let me add my congratulations Matt!!

The first show is such a powerful experience. We photograph by ourselves, we print by ourselves, we concentrate intensely on one image at a time. Your first show allows you to see your work in a more complete way...as an accumulated expression instead of singular images. From the work I've seen of yours here on APUG, you've been ready for this for a long time!

Great fun! Wish I could be there. Take lots of snaps when it gets hung. It really is fun to see a public wall full of YOUR work!! Sort of makes it all worth while. Hope you sell a few to pay for the frames and mats Matt.

Maybe I'll see ya there!

Congrats!! My friend and I have been trying to determine which dates to meet in Austin- thanks for helping with that.

I would like to hear how other people "felt" when they had their first shows and , of course, your experience.

I was 15 and my step mother stole a buch of my negs ( I couldn't afford to print). She had them printed and matted and entered them into a contest. She used my name and pretended she was me, so they were entered into the "adult" catagory. How cool was it when I thought that some one had been the exact same places I had (in England) and won 3 first place ribbons and one second. Then it dawned on me that one of the photos was of my punk friends in London. I almost fainted, and I did get sick. That's truly one of the nicest things any one has ever done for me. I didn't have the guts at that age.

You'll be great talking publicly, just try not to give in to "Tony Robbins" style temptation.

just an FYI.... if anyone would happen to like a Show postcard PM me your name/address, I will likely have a bunch extra from the show (the min order was 500) so if youd like one Im more than willing to spend the $0.30+/- it will cost to stick it in with all the other mailed ones.

Can I pick one up from the artist himself when I come down to Austin? :D

Wow, that's pretty awesome, and just down the road apiece. I'll definitely check it out.

If you North Texas folks are planning to head to Austin in a big crowd to catch the show, lemme know when and I'll try to plan on that day too. I'd like to meet some of the "nearby" talent.

The first time I saw one of your VanDs toned with platinum, I knew you would be going places and darn it if you are not proving me right! You are one talented fella so it is no wonder at all that you've got a show. Congratulations to you! Keep up the good work and I'll betcha we'll be reading about this upandcomer (uh...that would be you!) from TX in all the great magazines.
