It's Camera 7...

Not open for further replies.
The lists are now completely full. I would love to be able to accommodate everyone who expressed interest but unfortunately excess numbers appears to have been one of the downfalls in previous travelling cameras!

So the finalised list stays as ten a piece and is as follows: =

The US and Canada
1. TheBanana
2. Lmn
3. John_Nikon_F
4. Ron LarFor4X5
5. toro_mike
6. Flatulent1
7. J_Rollinger
8. Brian Legge
9. Matt_King
10.Cdholden

Europe and the Rest of the World
1. Síle
2. K_Jupiter (in Aachen)
3. Steve Smith
4. Erik_Prestmo
5. Tony Egan
6. Pcyco
7. Black Dog
8. Mooseontheloose
9. Sandholm
10. cmo

I will organise the list dependant on the best travelling path and get the cameras in the mail by early next week.. (Any assistance as to the best path for the US and Canada would be greatly appreciated.. I reckon I have Europe and the Rest of the World sewn up!)

Also I will mail the US and Canada camera to the first person on the list before we begin so that both cameras leave the Mother Ship at the very same time..
Looking forward to this.. and with any luck... we'll be home the same time as camera 6!

Couple of questions, pardon me if I'm being particularly dense at the moment...
I'm assuming we're shooting Holgas. What film? And is there any particular 'theme' or concept?

Your denseness is forgiven..

Unfortunately we are not shooting Holga's on this particular round.. That had been the original plan for round 7 and hasn't been completely shelved for the future.. hopefully in the not so distant future we'll be Holga'ing our way across the world..

The idea behind getting this round started is to see if we can beat home camera 6 and in a way to prove that the idea of a travelling camera does in fact work. It can be frustrating for those waiting.. but is still a project well worth doing and enjoyable to take part in..

Hopefully you'll still take part

I would still participate if we were circulating a paint-by-the-numbers clown portrait and we all had to append a wad of chewing gum (used) to the appropriately colored number.

Danm, took me forever to find this post...too late. Have fun everyone...looks like the odds are in favor of 7 beating 6.

We also have two members from US/Canada on a waiting list - so if anyone feels they cannot take part of wish to pull out at any stage, please let me know as soon as possible and we can fill those places..

Hey Tony, we can easily lend you a couple of our princes and princesses, any time my friend, any time......

BTW compared to the QBE, ours are surpicingly popoular this day and age....

Earlier in the thread someone mentioned sending out a Holga for another round so i thought about cross processing! I could donate some E6 for that round if anyone is interested in that sort of thing. I think a Holga with E100 VS cross processed would be interesting!

Okay my cross processing is processing all color film in Caffenol C, just did a roll of outdated Kodachrome, and it came outquite good, there's a caffenol group on APUG where you'll find a little more detail.

hE HE, LOOKING AT SOME OF THE PICTURES, I think I will fit RIGHT in with that group!!

Keep me posted if this pans out, I'll give you a couple of weird shots.

Jeez, here I was all interested in the possibilities for Round 8, when I realized you weren't talking about cross-dressing...

As I believe I have said already...
You don't have to be mad to come here... but it sure helps!

I've played with Caffenol C, but never tried it with color film. Can't wait to try that! Wonder if I can get to it before camera 7 arrives.

As far as I'm concerned, Caffenol is the prefect solution to unusual situations : outdated films, films found in some of the old cameras I buy, even old, exposed films that friends and relatives have left in a cupboard for a couple of decades. Color films as well as B&W.

More likely than not, Caffenol will give negatives that are scannable, in most cases printable even, though colors are lost in translation.

Caffenol is a lot more forgiveable than commercial developers, I think the trick is hidden in the long developing times, compared to the commercial stuff, typically 20 mins to 1 hour, depending on the concentration and brew, compared to 5 to 15 minuites in the commercial stuff.

I know I have some old films myself somewhere that I still havent found, 30+ years since exposure, I bet Caffenol will save what can still be saved, when I find those films I will report the outcome in the Caffenol group.

Caffenol sounds like it would be perfect for resurrecting the film out of camera 6 then...
