I'm using a Toyo 3.6x Loupe and wondering if it's good enough for 4x5 caemra? I'm thinking of getting a very cheap Arista x8 loupe if my Toyo isn't good enough.
That's really just about the optimum loupe...average eyes...average/general shooting situations.
Save your money and run with the Toyo. At that power, you see the image.
Much stronger, you start to see the grain on the ground glass.
They are hard to find. I think if you put it up for sale you would see that it is considered very good for 4x5 and several other formats. I love mine and can't understand why they discontinued the product.
Yes, it's a good choice for 4x5--better than one of those cheap plastic 8x Agfa-type loupes that have fairly severe distortion and cause eye strain with extended use.
