Hey, I just got a used voigtlander 15mm version 2, and I noticed at max aperture I can still see the blades. Is this how it's supposed to be? I searched google for a while, couldn't find an answer. Thanks,

yes, that is normal, that is the way it is. Mine, the first version, is exactly the same.

I suspect that it is actually a faster lens than set up to be, but they discovered that at the wider wide open -- 3.5? 2.8? -- it went wonky, so stopped it down.

Marvelous lens. I spent a whole day in Salt Lake City with just that lens on my Leica CL and wrote a blog about the results:

More likely mechanical convenience the design software can predict performances nearly as accurate as a MTF machine on the prototype lens.

The Orion-15 has a similar arrangment.
