Is this a Ford?

Found in Corfu, can anyone identify this truck? I know its not an old camera but I thought some of you guys may be into old vehicles as well.

Looks to be about a 48 or 49 ford pickup that has seen better days, the for fender supports and rad supports look to be completly rusted out allowing it to droop in the front, but it does indeed look like a late 40's ford pickup, to confirm, if you can get to it, there should be an ident plate possibly still attached under the hood or in the door piller frame that says ford on it, also there are several databases on the net, that you can track the serial number down on, and in that age range it should be in the door piller and could perhaps be on the dash lower side on the drivers side. Could also be a ford that was made for a company in europe and badged with another name, ford did this quite a bit in the late 40's to help get the vehicles into service and help compensate for the destroyed productions capibilities in europe after the war.

Its a late 40s F1 pickup. I don't know the dates but 1948-1950 will be close enough. Definately been used...

Don't think so Jim, the rad support between the front fenders is to short, looks quite bit different than the 53 I have here, the flat top on the fenders looks alot more like a ford as well..

I had completely forgot about the Studebakers!!! DOH! and I see quite a few of them around here where I live, they were real prevelant in Canada in the 50's

Deffinitely not a 40 Ford, The hood is all wrong as are the fenders and headlights! I had one purchased by my father in 1940 for $595.00.

I think I'm wrong, it very well could be early 1950s GMC. The GMC grille was different from Chevrolet. Studebaker had a flat sided hood instead of how this one curves to follow the fender. And Dodge has a two piece hood that folds up the length of the truck.
Now if only it were a 1920s passenger car, then I'd really know what to look for.

I thought they said FORD now I think FIAT, that would explain the rust.

I don't think it is either an American made Ford or Chevrolet of the era suggested. Look at headlights, hood with seam down the middle, name on front of grill, door handles. I am without a clue as to what it is other than to say I don't think it is the American made version of anything. Bill Barber
