Anybody know a way to replace my viewfinder? I shoot 100% 28mm.
Cost?

You need to talk to Leica. It may be cheaper to sell your camera and buy one with the .58.
I find the .58 not just the best for 28mm, but also for 35mm.

I have been looking for one with .58 but never found one. Maybe somebody wants to swap/trade?

Someone like Don Goldberg can do it. Leica used to, but I don't know if they still do. The cost is very, very high. You'd be better off just buying a camera that had the finder you want.

He could do it if he has the .58 parts, but I'm pretty sure he doesn't.

There were three for sale in the last few months of fredmiranda.com. For about $3700! One M7, two MP

Buy a finder. I figure if it was good enough for Garry Winogrand, it's more than good enough for me.

Too big and not pocketable.

What r you talking about? That finder is tiny and will fit into a shirt pocket.

But attached on the camera makes it bigger. I want to be able to pick up the camera and shoot.

There is a couple of dozen 0.58 Leicas on eBay. M6, M6 TTL, M7 in both black and silver. Even brand new old stock is available. No need for luck. Anyone can buy one with a click of a button.

Don’t want m6 or m7. I want a MP.

Right.

That totally prevents you from doing that.

Why not just say you only want it if it has the .58 finder, and don't have any interest in an add-on optical finder?
That is completely reasonable as it is a matter of preference. I get that.

No problem, Don can transplant the optics from this silver 0.58 MP to your regular black MP.

but them the silver will be worth less...
Can I order a 0.58 MP from Leica brand new?
