Better hurry up - isn't this "Black Friday"?

I never heard of Black Friday until about 15 years ago. Then it was suddenly everywhere.

It's been a thing in the US since I was a kid (I'm 51 now). The name stems from the idea that it is the point in the year that retail businesses finally make enough money to be "in the black" accounting-wise.

I don't think they're a sponsor, but Printique (formerly AdoramaPix) has been 25% off for the better part of a week at least now. Prints make up the biggest chunk of my Christmas budget so I always order around this time.

Yep, Black Friday makes.....some......people behave in the most incorrigible manner. I could go on but wiser to leave it here.

The irony in that picture is that they seem to be clamoring for a Polaroid television.
Historically, in Canada, our big sale day was Boxing Day - December 26th - but the US marketing invasion has forced Black Friday into its place.

Black Friday has also invaded Europe.
It's all meaningless hype that is forcing some smaller retailers to close shop.
Dollar forty nine Tuesday, was the real thing!!

So I am drowning in stuff. I decide, foolish me, to go to KEH today, Black Friday, and sell some stuff. They must have disabled the sell to them feature. I've been trying all day. No joy.

Nutz to KEH.
