Is there a better tiny 28mm lens than the Voigtlander?

I don't. Seems fine w/o the hood. I don't use a filter so that most probably helps too:

Really liking the 28 TTA shots. I think I'll get one, so cheap and I really like shooting slow wide lenses, they just let you get on with things without worrying about "what aperture" and "where to focus". Now..brass or silver, there's a question. Brass looks good on a black body, silver's good on all. There's always black, but that's just boring.

Canon 28mm f2.8 LTM.
40mm filters are scarce and hard-to-come-by.
40-40.5mm adapter, 40.5mm filters,
40.5 screw in wideangle hood.
Thank you China. Inexpensive and relatively quick (& cheap) shipping given the season.View attachment 324737

I looked into the Canon lens, and frankly it is really expensive now! I gave up looking on ebay after reaching the $600 point where the descriptions said Mint, while the pics showed pretty severe glass "imperfections". You can buy a perfect condition Voigtlander 28 3.5 for less than that.

I had several VC 28 3.5 & was looking for some different character. I did get this clean one for less. I'm looking forward to giving it the full range workout.

Looking forward to seeing your results.

Friend of mine has the TT Artians, and I have a Leica version that that TT is based on. We did a comparison test, and they are very similar. For the price difference I'd certainly buy the TT if I actually intended to use the lens.

It's very sharp, even when zoomed right in on the wires.
