Is there a better tiny 28mm lens than the Voigtlander?

These are all great photos! I have one of these smart little fellows in chrome or silver (whatever it's called today). Brilliant little lens especially at f8-f11. The hood is nice but it is easily knocked crooked. I was absolutely shocked by the quality of the images I got on a digital body. I don't have any other China made M mount lenses, but this is a great little lens, especially considering the $300 price tag.

Thanks! I’ve never used the lens hood, didnt even take it out of the box! It is just so big for me it ruins the point of this tiny lens. If I was going to do that I’d just use my Summicron 28.

Good point about the hood. Keep the sun behind you more or less.

Great photos Huss! I’m especially enjoying the Lomo Fantone. I think I need to try that out.

Thanks! This lens is not a replacement for the Leica Summaron 28 5.6 as the optical formula is completely different. It just looks like one!
I think it is better that way, as this is a very nice, modern, compact lens that is great to use.

FYI ttartisans are now selling really nice metal 28mm VFs for $40.

Sweet! I appreciate the heads up on this one...

The one thing about the barnack that I haven't gotten used to is finders. Got a canon for my 35mm because it was relatively cheap, but it was just a shot in the dark what to get there.

Finally the viewfinder arrived via the slowboat from Italy. Check this: 1 week, Italy to Canada. 2 weeks in limbo at Customs. 1day to process at Canada Post. 1 day from Mississauga Ont....to Calgary. i day Calgary to Canmore (100km/60mi west).... 1 WEEK... 1 mile from my house at the Canmore Post Office....but
Beautiful condition
with both box & case. I'm not a big fan of the el cheapo viewfinders. All that remains is to run some film through & see how I like the Canon 28 character!

Canon 28mm f2.8 LTM.
40mm filters are scarce and hard-to-come-by.
40-40.5mm adapter, 40.5mm filters,
40.5 screw in wideangle hood.
Thank you China. Inexpensive and relatively quick (& cheap) shipping given the season.
