Is there a better tiny 28mm lens than the Voigtlander?

What a rollicking thread. Great fun. I really don’t have a dog in this ring. The great majority of my photography is with lenses from 45mm to 90mm, although I have acquired a bunch of lenses up to 400mm and down to 15mm. I have a couple 28mm lenses. When in North Korea decades agonI hung my M4 fitted with Leitz 28mm around my neck, cultivated an ostensible habit of fiddling with the wind lever, and ran a cable release through the sleeve of my jacket to the camera. With the 28 only had to turn in general direction to fire shutter. Got enough on negative to capture pictures. I can verify the quietness of the M4 shutter. (Since I’m still here)
Besides the Leitz 28, I have a Canon 28 for ltm. Both are fine lenses.

I agree with Huss, what is a sterile lens?

One that is incapable or reproducing itself? I have no problem with this as long as it was the lens' free choice. Whether I agree with this choice as being socially responsible in times of lens shortages is another matter😨

Any lens that has fungus in it is not a sterile lens. By that notion, I prefer sterile lenses.

I've taken similar pics to this, but this is the first one using E6 film

Leica MP, TTA 28mm f5.6 BP, Kodak E100VS

Great lens, even if you only use it as a tiny, carry everywhere emergency wide:

I'd think about it, but then I'd need a 28mm frame line. The viewfinder costs 50% as much as the lens!

And, yes, that's sarcasm. The shots look nice for a $300 walkin' around lens.

The results look great....i think i'll hold out for another example of the voigtlander 28mm f 3.5.. (some of us don't live in sunny California) 😉. I might be warming up the 28mm focal length....

That is a lens that they really should reintroduce.

The styling miss with the black paint TTA is the paint is matt finish. I don’t know of any Leica M that has a matt finish BP. Don’t get me wrong, the lens still looks great, but it could have looked perfect if it was glossy like a BP Leica MP.
Bummer because Cosina nailed the paint finish with the BP CV 40 2.8.

And now the matte black paint has become a styling hit, seeing Leica has just so thoughtfully introduced the matte black paint M6 to go with it!
