I'm not. I agree with you on them looking similar. I really wasn't planning on using it except as a backup, it's why I wanted to see what it looked like, so if I ran out of film I could buy it locally. I'm adding Adox CHS 50 Art B&W film to my other B&W's that I shoot. I have seen some outstanding photos of it.

When processed in proper C-41 chemistry both the Ilford and Kodak films deliver a very good result. Of the two, I prefer the Ilford simply because it is very easy to print in a conventional B&W darkroom and delivers a very nice print. Minilab prints are almost never any good unless you're willing to pay a premium in dollars and convenience for a good pro lab. Both films scan extremely well, if that is your preference; and offer the advatage of being compatible with automatic dust and scratch suppression technology.

Don't know anything about Fuji's C-41 film, since I've never seen it for sale in the US. It's probably just as good as the other two.

Made by Ilford, per Fuji's specs. It's my first choice in C-41 B/W films. But I get nice results with Ilford's XP-2 too.

TBH, I've used both, more XP2 than Neopan as its easier to get on the high street, and I can't really tell the difference.

As you say personal preference
