Is it safe to mix Dektol with LPD?

I recently "freshened up" my tray of Dektol by adding some LPD stock solution and liked the resulting tones in the prints. Is is safe to mix these two developers?

Of course.

They won't explode; but no manufacturer will ever recommend combining different developers. It certainly is not scientific.
