Here is a Still-life I took to use up some film and I have been told it 'looks a bit RUDE' -- I was innocent at the time of taking ---

I do like the colours. Depending on one's imagination, it conjours up an image of a couple of things. :whistling:

The yellow capsicum has a passing resemblance to a backside I saw in town over the weekend. Perhaps Esther Rantzen could make more of it....

Well, it would have gotten you an A in the photo class I took in college. We discovered early on that the instructor would praise highly any image with even the slightest hint of a phallic symbol. I wouldn't call yours "rude," but it is a bit suggestive.

I think it's fantastic! Rude? Probably not, but certainly something to whisper about to your wife to see if she giggles.

Sounds like my photo professor. We have an art art history professor who is even worse. Columns in paintings are phallic symbols to her.

Look at the person who made the comment and ask them to explain what they see because you see vegetables.

What a bizarre mental image I just had of somebody playing the phallic cymbal in a rock band :D

Reminds me of my mum putting up decorations for Christmas or birthdays. Balloons were always in groups of three. Two round and one long one.

haha, i like it,

not rude by a long shot, unless you're a prude.
funny that someone should consider this, rude.

Now, lets consider a nude
perhaps in the wrong context, crude.
but never if ever, rude.

composition is key with food
fruits and veggies can allude,
but to censor is to obtrude.

and there is nothing more rude.

You can't control what people think when they look at your photos. Obviously, the person saying the photo is "rude" haven't been getting any . You know I mean veggies right .

Edward Weston had some of his pepper photos banned by a gallery as they thought that they were rude.

Now that reference to the "old Esther Sunday night show" really ages you and me. I even remember her as Bernard Braden's apprentice :D

And if we allow it to happen, we're screwed.

Thanks for the verse. You clearly have diverse and versatile abilities.

Even though I am not a fan of of butternut squash, I'd not consider it rude.

There is quite a lot of work called "Rude Food" or "Rude Fruit". It has become a category of it's own. Butternut squash has been used a lot. It is all done in humor. There is even at least one book out on such images. When someone said your photo was a bit rude he probably was referencing the cliche of rude food. Of course the orange pepper is perfectly placed to look like testicles to the erect penis squash. The red pepper I guess is red hair? Is it offensive? Probably to someone. It would seem more a joke to most. Is it rude? Yes in that it fits in that whole group of rude food photos. Maybe APUG should make a special gallery for rude food photos so we can all have fun with it. Maybe an APUG group should be created for lovers of rude food.
