Is Bergger Pancro 400 done, or just out of production again, for a long time?

Thanks for the heads up! Ordered a couple of rolls.

My guess is that, once they've fulfilled orders from distributors, it'll be back in stock on their website.

I looked into it, but the order will not go through if you give them a USA address. They won't ship here. I'm done with Pancro 400.

I dislike Bergger Pancro 400 for the base fog and the grain. After the remaining 2 rolls (120) I will be done with it.

Yeah, I got fed up with the unreasonable base fog and the excessive curl with the 120 format Pancro 400. I won't buy it again. Try-X is so much better in most every way.

Three weeks ago I attempted to buy a box of the 5x7 format, and I put it in the cart and when I input my (USA) address, it declined to complete the process. Don't know what else to tell you. I'm uninterested in making a second attempt. I've become really fed up with the extreme inconsistency of production of this film. For five f*cking years it has been unavailable in sheet formats, so I see no point in buying it again, only to have it vanish again, for years at a time.
 
It worked for me as well. I think the point was it didn’t work a few weeks ago because USA simply wasn’t an option (I looked as well then, and when it didn’t work I was considering shipping it to Mexico) but they updated and it works now. €203 euros with shipping for 1 box of 50 sheets of 4x5 and 1 box of 25 sheets of 5x7. Shipped via FedEx, I’m sure they’ll hit me for $30-35 for tariffs.
 
Fedex didn't ask for a tariff payment before delivery the way UPS does, but I'm sure I'll get a bill in the mail. Anyway, straight from Vicq-sur-Breuilh:

My 35mm rolls from BMC, just arrived in the mail. All of them are dated 12/26, which suggests a production date of December 2024.



Incidentally, the roll of P400 that I brought directly from ORWO, is also dated 12/26. It probably doesn't mean much, but since InovisCoat makes both, and they're both successors to ORWO N74/N75, I can't help but speculate if it's related. Maybe that's when they last made a batch of the 35 mm stills pancakes, and so we're waiting for the stocks to run down before InovisCoat creates a fresh batch?
 

thats interesting as that is a year older than the sheets I bought.
 

My 35mm rolls have the date date, though the 120 rolls I got from them have the date of 11/27 on them.
 
I was just able to buy the 5x7 sheets of P400 from the Bergger website. It's coming by FedEX which seems to be less difficult from what I'm reading here.

I actually have a roll of 120 I've never used so will have to try it out some time.

I haven't received a tariff bill from FedEx yet for my boxes. I had this issue once before where FedEx bidin't send me a bill until several months later, and it started out as a kind of late payment notice. UPS notifies you before deliery and you can easily pay online, but everytime I've done it they always change me less than the bill they sent. UPS has a $15 broker fee no matter the cost of the tarrif. Fedex is probably similar, but I don't remember. I got hit with a crazy cost from DHL, so I'd reccomend agains them.
 
Thanks, I had to pay about $30 tariff last fall when I bought a film scanning holder setup from England, other than that I haven't had much experience with it, Ebay often factors in the charge when you buy things now. I'm looking forward to receiving the 5x7 film, that size is hard to get and the price is pretty reasonable I think.

I sold a box of 8x10 for a price I was happy with in about 5 minutes, don’t remember whether it was here or over on LFPF.

I’m guessing Andrew is in the shooting mood not the selling mood.

Don’t let the 120 rolls expire - that film does NOT age well.
 
A little follow up: a few weeks after delivery of my box of 4x5 and 5x7, I received a tariff bill from FedEx—$35, about what I expected. $20 for the tariff and $15 for the handling.

For some reason I've been getting a run around from FedEx. They have been holding the package up in customs asking for a translation of the documents into English, and/or an explanation of the contents and materials inside. I explained that Bergger Panchro was a black and white film inside black plastic in a cardboard box, even copying the detailed description from Freestyle.

I finally contacted Bergger who kindly replied that they had already sent the translation to FedEx! So I hope to see the film soon.
 

Weird. No issue at all here. It just sailed through customs. Maybe I lucked into a french fluent customs agent?

I would want to know the expiration date on the 120 Pancro 400 before buying. There has been a lot of older inventory finding its way onto shelves in the past 3 years and some of it is close to, or way past its expiration date. And FYI, this film does NOT age well as it approaches its expiration date!
 
Wouldn't hurt to email them & ask, good chance they'll tell you.
