I don't doubt it, that's a great lens. It would be the op's route if they wanted a high end lens, maybe mounted on a CL to keep the package small. That's an expensive setup though, and finding CLs w/ working meters can be quite a hunt.
I've been shooting the little Pentax SLR cameras lately, that's a good way to go for keeping things light and affordable. The lenses have been excellent. An early Retina 1a is small and the lens is as good as a Leica, but those are somewhat heavy. That's why I went w/ the Pentax cameras. Might as well get TTL metering, interchangeable lenses and SLR accuracy w/ basically the same size.
I really like the rollei b35 size and on the lens controls but the trio tar leaves a lot to be desired.
I was wondering if it is possible to modify and install the optical elements of a tessar or even Sonar if I find a broken camera with a nice lens
I understand it will be only F3.5 but I am fine with that. Maybe if the barrel can be reduced?
You can not swap the Tessar lens into the Rollei B35. The barrel machining is different on the B35 and it can not accept the front element of the Tessar. I suppose if you want to re-engineer the camera, anything is possible.
