Hello,
Nice that there's an Irish corner here.
I'm in Cork, on the island.
Looking forward to sharing the fun.
Daragh

Hi Daragh and welcome!
Not only is there an Irish corner here.. but there's a Cork corner in the Irish corner! :D
We're due an outing sometime soon, and even if we haven't decided on a destination, hopefully you'll be able to join us.

Hi Peter,

Welcome to the Irish corner of APUG, with you on board I think we are up to 5 APUGers living in Wicklow. Wonder if that makes Wicklow the capital of APUG/Ireland?

Hi from Co Tipp

I'm Dave, near Kilkenny (actually in Tipp, but nearest town is Kilkenny). I've been shooting film for over four decades, but the last ten years saw very little activity. My purchase last year of a digiSLR re-awakened an interest in film and especially Medium Format.
I recently bought a Pentacon Six and am slowly building up an MF kit based around Russian and German glass. Oddly enough, the first films I ever shot were all 120/220 on the family cameras of the day, so it's all a process of re-learning forgotten knowledge.

Hiya Dave and welcome..
I too came back to film photography via digital and went straight to a
MF camera.. trust me, it only gets better from here on

Hello

Since Sean so kindly setup this region for us and a handy link too www.apug.org/ireland I thought it would be cool to introduce ourselves. So here goes;

I'm Fintan and living in Laois. I mostly do B+W and polaroids, and mostly use medium format. I do have a large format camera but still learning how to use it.

I like landscape, people, street, abstract and fashion photography. I have my own darkroom but still have a lot to learn

Hello there all you film-folk!

I am Brian and I hail from Abbeyleix in Laois and know Fintan. I am back living in Ireland after a 20 year foray to Landan, innit?

I used to shoot lots of film on a host of different cameras until about 8 years ago when I started into digital. I had a lot of fun at fiorst and a lot less of late, although I still use my Canon 350D for kids etc.

I have been using a Pentax Program A again recently and have just acquired a Bronica 6X4.5 which I am enjoying. Its B&W only this time and beginning to develop and print after a very long break.

Love landscape / architecture / abstract and anything that forces you to involuntarily look again.

I am also a music nut and still have not stopped buying and playing vinyl as well as all the other media we are forced to endure by the aural decoration dispensing organisations! Analogue rocks!

Ciao

Greetings

Hi all,

Trapped in the rat race by day, learning to love those stolen moments behind a lens.. just started, did the Gallery Of Photo course and try to hide in their basement at any available oppurtunity. to date 14 B&W rolls shot, developed and number is growing all the time.

Current equipment.

Nikon F75 body with Nikkor 28-100 F3.5/5.6D zoom.
Nikon Nikkor 24mm 2.8D AF
Nikon Nikkor 50mm 1.4D due any day.

also found in family attic!!:surprised:

two number 1958 minolta autowides, 28mm Rokkor lens , one working, picking up first colour roll tomorrow from lab.

one number 1958 agfa siletto vario -- needs cleaning.
loads of old colour filters for both above and light meters... should be fun to play with.:D

Avoiding the perils of buying any more.... (fingers crossed behind back) .

Hiya Folks,
I live in Co. Kildare and have been involved in photography for more than 30 years. My main interest lies in B&W and is usually landscape or architecture. You can see see some of my work at low resolution on the Gallery section of Dublin Camera Club.ie. I already know Fintan ( but then who does'nt ) from travelling to work and that's what has me in APUG.

Cheers
