Hi,
I was asked by a friend in Brazil to buy and ship some rolls of IR film.
Any ideas on how to ship it?
Should it so into a polystyrene box?
Foil?
Lead box?

When B&H shipped IR film to me the had the film rapped in "ice packs". It's not really ice, but they kept the film cool, under 55* I think. I'm not sure how long the packs last, but you might have to rush the film. Not sure about the box though. -Grant

I think alot may depend upon the film-I've never used kodaks IR film but I've ordered Maco 820c,Konica 750 and Ilfords sfx from B&H in New York and from Freestyle in California and they all just come in a box,no ice,in about 3-5 days.So far I've experienced no problems with three day shipping from either(no fogging) I just refridgerate when I recieve them.A box is a box-but going to South America I'd try to keep it cool and find out if it get's x-rayed along the way.

You might also ask the friend how reliable the mail service to Brazil is. I know Jorge O got a letter from me rapidly. In Venezuela you might get it in 3 to 6 months time. It all depends.
