fyi, for those of you who mess with the iphone as a capture device I've written an app that simulates long/time exposures by taking a series of full resolution images and averaging them. The averaging is done off line using the GPU so you can get a full camera resolution image. A realtime low res preview is provided during the capture.

Fantastic! I'll have to try it out. I have been using an app called Slow Shutter Cam, and it's fun to play with too.

I will have to give it a try as well.

When is this available. I was just checking on Itunes and it doesn't appear.

Hmmm... check again, it is there in the app store. Time eX.

that is exactly what i did.
but i will give it another shot.

computers drive me wild this week :ninja:

just bought it, thanks Kerik.

Heyyy... Pretty slick, Kerik. Just picked it up.
Saw your film timer while there and bought that too. All my reciprocity tables on my phone. I'll get more use out of this app than I will the Time eX.
Thanks!

Steve

Bought this app and tried it out. Works great! Just have to figure out how to tripod mount an iPhone. Any ideas, folks?

They make a variety of support gadgets for the iphone. Off the top of my head i don't have the url's but google should bring up a lot, i know Amazon had some.

I use the Glif iphone tripod mount. There are sturdier ones, but I see a phone as a short-term proposition and don't see myself investing a lot in a tripod mount for a phone.

I love this thing for holding an iPhone or any smartphone. It holds very well and is not phone-specific, so it'll likely fit whatever your next phone is, too. Thanks to Ike for pointing me to it.
