Hi All,
I'm new here. Just started learning to develop B&W 35mm film and print in the dark room. I have been wanting to do this for over 30 years and finally am squeezing the pennies and time to do it! So far I love it. Trying to convince hubby to build a darkroom so I don't have to be gone all the time though.
Experience:
Lots of reading... which means little except it is what peaked my interest way back in high school. I read the whole Time Life series and was hooked. I just couldn't afford a camera etc. Currently taking photography I at community college and have had a couple semesters of photojournalism.
I work full time in a cell biology research lab, have 4 kids and a husband. Although two kids are over 21, still time is limited. But as I am only getting older, ready to play in the dark.
Equipment:
Canon AE 1. 50 mm f1.4(Canon) 85-200 zoom (Vivitar) a few filters and a 2x converter
Nikon N2000. 35-80 zoom (approx, can't remember) (Sigma) a telephoto zoom that goes to 250 ( also can't remember details)
Pentax K-7 18-55mm F3.5 (Pentax) 50-200 F4(Pentax) plus a manual focus 50mm f2.0
Just bought an enlarger today, used Beseler dichro 67.
Right now, using Ilford MGIV RC VC paper Ilford film, mostly Delta 400 and Delta 100. Kodak HC110 and Kodafix to develop. I am developing film at home, and printing at school until darkroom is set up.
Eventually I would like to move to 120 and 4x5 film as well as alternative processing. But I better get experienced in what I am doing right now first!
So... how's that for an intro! Although, I'm a little intimidated by the talent and knowledge here, I hope to learn a thing or two!
Theresa
