Intro & Advanced Collodion Workshops (Fall 2009)

We will have a few classes in collodion and salt printing this fall
at Scully & Osterman Studio in Rochester, New York:

Introduction to Wet-Plate Collodion.
Gain an understanding of collodion chemistry including mixing & troubleshooting;
Make ambrotypes in a skylight studio with original equipment,
Also, learn how to create collodion images with minimal equipment.

September 19 & 20, 2009
$ 350 + lab fee* class 4 to 6 persons

Additional day (optional): September 21, 2009
$ 200 + lab fee* class limited to 4 (first-come basis)

Advanced Class: Making Negatives for Printing-Out Papers.
Learn advanced techniques and understand what makes a good negative
for albumen and salt prints, platinum, palladium, gum and other 19th
c. printing processes. This class is for those experienced with
collodion only. Portfolio approval required.

October 17 & 18, 2009
$ 450 + lab fee* class size 4 to 6 persons
