Just thought I'd share a fun little video from the weekend. I went out with a photographer friend who shoots digital and dabbles a bit in medium format film with a Rolleiflex. He recently got one of the new Intrepid cameras and is totally new to large format. I set him up with lens, film etc. and we went out shooting. Another friend was a long and made this quick little iPhone video.

I'm the other guy in the blue. I was shooting my Super Graphic.

Very interesting, nice scenery to boot.
A question: at 2'39" there is a quick grab of the ground glass. There appears to be a red line running horizontally across the GG, is this something that came with the camera, or is this something that happened on the phone software?
Mick.

Looked like fun; good weather, plenty light, not too far off the road.
Thankfully no Grizzlies around.

Can I ask what lens he borrowed from you, and how did his shots turn out, using which developer etc.

It's a very dry climate normally. I guess the concern would be static electricity?

It certainly was nice to see what the Whitehorse area looks like in summer. By the way, just when is summer? My wife is from a part of Germany that has cold winters with lots of snow. I jokingly tell her that summer in her hometown is August 17. Our summer here is usually 6 months long. You folks have some nice Analog equipment. From watching TV, I am sure that you pay for that equipment with gold panned out of nearby creeks....Regards!

I lent him my 135mm Nikkor-W, lucky for me I had a random Linhof board lying around from a past lens purchase.

We were shooting New55 Atomic-X film rated at ISO 50. We haven't had a chance to get together to process his sheets yet but mine turned out well, developed for 8 minutes in Ilford ID-11.

Nice video.

Out of curiosity what's the backpack at 0:51?

It's an Dead Link Removed. It's my go-to for my large format system, a really good pack for biking/hiking/skiing etc.

Thanks. I'll check it out. I need a new bag for my Speed Graphic.

Thanks. I'll check it out. I need a new bag for my Speed Graphic.

I got a 90's era LowePro Photo Trekker for my LF system on eBay for $25. Carries my Tachihara, 7 film holders, lens filters, dark cloth, loupe + accessories, and 2 lenses. And it has straps I can hang my tripod from underneath.

Usually I'll throw a 35mm cam in the outside pocket for fun too. And of course a notebook and pencil that I never use to take notes.
