Good news (well, news to me at least) for those of us using Pakon 35mm scanners. We now also have the option to run under 64-bit Windows 10/11 thanks to an enterprising software developer. New 64-bit Windows drivers are available https://github.com/ktkaufman03/FX35. There's also a nice write-up about how he did it at https://ktkaufman03.github.io. The drivers work great with my F-235 and are free and open-source - you can look at the code and see how it all works, which is pretty cool. Now if someone would develop a friendlier version of TLX all would be perfect.

Given how junky current scanners seem to be (save for some of the Epsons) it's wonderful to have the option to run these high-end "legacy" scanners with modern hardware. Running my Pakon under Windows XP was getting really old.

yes, xp is no fun, even worse is the virtual xp I run. Has had to be reinstalled 3 times this year as it keeps getting buggy and causes the error 149 message. Only solution is to uninstall, the reinstall virtual xp then to reinstall pakon software. I love the scanner, hate the old tech. Been meaning to try installing this but my tech skills are not what they once were. There is a youtube vid walk through on this now, on the FB pakon page posted.

It's not hard to get it running on Windows 11. If you're running Windows 10 be sure that the build you're running meets the requirements listed in the readme. If you need help getting it set up I'd be happy to oblige. So long as you don't want to run PSI (which isn't really usable in Win 10/11), running the Pakon with a current OS is a HUGE upgrade.

I actually prefer PSI so there is that My is the plus model 135 pakon, had since 2013/2012. I may set it up on a win 10 laptop (my win10 desktop doesn't meet needed requirements) to see how I like it. I really just need an old beater xp laptop. I don't mind copy/pasting files via a usb drive between main desktop and a dedicated scanning laptop.
