Interesting, although the website and user manual warn that it is not to be used in wet environments like outdoors, kitchens and bathrooms.

I think Philips is hooked up with Lumileds (the Luxeon people), so I suspect that the raw diodes are more interesting. I've been scheming about a head based on the Luxeon Rebel for a while, but the peak frequency of the royal blue LED has me a bit worried. I've also no idea just how much variation there is between samples as far as frequency distribution.

Looks like the weird ambient light doo-dad that Philips has in their flat screen tv's...
