Embroidered Patch

Andy K said:
How about an embroidered APUG patch we can sew on our own hats, jackets or bags? Something along the lines of the card design. Then everyone can have the style they prefer.
Matt, I changed my mind after Andy's suggestion. The embroidered patch sound like the best idea.

Hmmm... Hats, jacket, bag... Yup, I'd probably take half a dozen or so too...

I like the patch idea too, although probably not as a g-string (it's a bit cold here at the moment...!)

Won't be needing a large patch then... :D

Anyway, this is getting off topic, it's about hats. Whatever Matt decides will no doubt be up to his usual high standard.

We're talking about covering our heads, no?

Ok, I'll stop here!

A patch has crossed my mind...

But, embroidered text has to be a maximum of 1/4" high to be readable, though there are other methods of imprintng on patches these days. It would also have to be designed right to have a general application-sized for hats, shirts, jackets-whatever. A "universal" size and color that would work with the varied (and might I add "sick and twisted" :D ) minds here... APUG thongs...hmmm "Have you hugged your ape today" slogan might work on those...

I'll look into varied sizes to see if I can do a jacket patch and maybe a smaller one for hats and smaller items. The business card layout would have to be modified to work, as the text would be too small, or the overall patch way too large. The back design of the white and grey tee shirts would be my preference, but again, would have to be fairly large if embroidered to be clean looking. I'll work on it...

I prefer straight embroidery on items, as it looks better, with the exception of jackets and the military beret hat.

I'll still probably run some hats anyway. Thanks again, and Ari...maybe we can wear the thong patch while we "innocently" stone the strolling couples on V-Day... :D

Hey Blaze-on,
I would also like some kind of floppy brim style as others have stated but will buy whatever you decide on. also, another vote for a patch. Being a "bagoholic" I could easily buy 8 to 10 patches :D

Quick note - For myself the patch design would not necessarily have to mimic the business card design.

You do good work, Blaze! I'm more than happy to trust to your judgement on the design front!
