Hi guys,

I'm trying to choose between a Instax Wide 100 and the Cheki 30.
The trouble is, my Instax 10 does a lot of noise (like a really big noise) when changing the focus and turning on/off. Does the Wide 100 has the same problem?

And other question is. Is the cheki 30 any good?

Thank you.

Hi Dinis,

Checki 30 is a instax mini camera, or am I wrong? Instax wide 100 uses wide films - those cameras are totally different beasts.
If you are disturbed by the noise - go for older model, line Instax mini 7 - there you open/close lens manually - totally silent. They are cheaper too.

Yes it is a mini.
But does the 100 makes a lot of noise?
And is the 7 really worth? It seems that the lens go away pretty quickly..

Because, if the 100 makes less noise than my Mini 10, Iwill buy it. Even if its ugly

The only way is to test the 100 wide yourself - do you have some shop where you can test it (here in Hamburg in Saturn shop are all models, one can play with it)? For me even Mini 10 is acceptable in noise. I have mini 7 (not newer mini 7s) - got it like 6-7 years ago, still working ok, many films went through it.

I don't have any shop for that..
I only have for polaroids, but right now, buying again another polaroid would be too much for me, since I like to take a lot of pictures in special events and stuff.

Guess I have to bet on a 100 (tried to buy a 7s, but who was selling it was trying to scam me -.-)

By the way.. the black cover of the "plain cable" inside my instax mini 10 has come off again and I lost it..
Will it damage the cable, since it's "exposed"

Does anything come near the cable when the camera is operated? If not, then I think it's ok.

The cover may have been there to prevent light reflecting off the film then onto the cable and then back onto the film in the form of glare.

So I should not be concerned right?
The film will only arrive in a week or two - delayed stuff :D

Stick a small piece of matt-black paper over the square-ish aperture around the cable - that will reduce any glare or reflections from the light coloured ribbon-cable.
