I have an old student who has gotten very involved with serious inkjet printing, and i do mean serious!! i.e. he is getting ready to take a workshop on the west coast with some people from Epson, on the science of ink making.

he is trying to find someone in the Atlanta area to talk with, etec. who can help him to the next level.

I was thinking that perhaps some of you who do fine art printing might know of someone in the area ; including the southeast coast line and even perhaps further north he could communicate with.

we have discussed several of the commercial houses in this area but he is doing higher quality work than they are and so that is not going to be an option.

I realize this is a shot in the dark, but then one just never knows who knows who.

Ann,

John and I have met a couple of times and I've visited his studio but I doubt if he would recall meeting me, so dropping my name would probably not ring a bell with him. I would contact him via e-mail and explain your interest and mention that he was recommended by a person familiar with his studio.

John has a strong background in traditional and alternative photography and studied under Todd Gangler (I hope I'm recalling that correctly.) Gangler was a master color carbon printer.

John does a lot of Pieziotone (Cone) B&W printing as well as color work for a many fine art photographers here in Atlanta and else where and runs his studio from his home. So he only meets by appointment. He has quite an interesting setup and his inkjet prints are gorgeous. He also provides drum scanning services. He can make very large prints, color or B&W.

Hope this helps,

Don
