I am totally new to all of this: that said my wife has informed me that transparency materials for printers only work with laser printers but I have read many threads where folks are using inkjet printers to make their negatives.........so what are you inkjet printer folks using to make your negatives? Thanks

Pictorico film and Epson 3800s is a common pairing, using Ron Reeder's QTR approach or Mark Nelson's PDN approach.

I successfully used the cheaper Permajet transparent films with a Epson r2400 printer drived by QTR and got usable negatives.
