Cheers, that's a great bit of info, I wondered why there were so many 37mm and no 36mm.Hi
Wonder if anyone could help. I have just purchased a Zorki 6 with Industar 50 lens, the manual says the attachment thread is 36mm but I have searched eBay for a lens cap and found nothing. Any info where I might buy one, I am in UK.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi - Thanks for the link. Will take a look.
Cheers. If the 37mm snap-on cap should not fit, one might grind-off the ring of the cap a bit.
Otherwise Heliopan offers push-on caps with diameters in 1mm steps.
Will take a look at press but we don't have many camera fairs.Sometimes bottle tops are good stop-gap lens caps, Tesco milk bottle tops are about that sizealso they come in three colours !
If you can get to a camera fair there's always boxes full of different sized lens caps.

You're probably right about the original caps using velvet but I have made it work with the felt.At least in theory velvet could work beter than felt. (Actually I only know original caps with velvet, not felt.)
If you paint them with automotive touch up spray paint (black or silver), they can look quite good, almost as nice as the original lens cap.I've used the snap-on tops of pill boxes if I happened to have some that fit or could be made to fit. Looks bad, works well.
Hmm... I didn't have a problem spray painting my plastic caps. After two years, the paint hasn't rubbed or flaked off yet.Aren't pill box caps caps from PA/PP? How would you spray paint them?
