I just got the ImagrePrint RIP to use on my Epson 3880. Coming from the wet darkroom but want to use the narrow gamut function in IP to tone my digital photos. As I understand it, you must change the photo to gray scale in IP. However, I'd rather perform my monotone conversion and adjustments using LR3 with NIK Siver FX Pro2 as my external editor.

Would I then print from IP, converting my already monochromatic picture to gray scale for the narrow gamut toning function. Would converting to gray scale change any of the tonal relationships that I arrived at using the NIK software?
