I have a small portrait on my fridge of my son. Nothing special, just an enlarger test to see if the bulb was going. Anyway, the picture is fading and turning yellow.

Ilforg MG RC paper
displayed on fridge for 2 years
No direct sunlight
Flourescent lighting
Located directly across from the stove which is used a lot.

None of the other pictures I shot and printed on the same paper at the same time have faded.

Could the heat from the stove have something to do with this?

Heat, humidity, oil and vapors from cooking all wouldn't be great for photographs, even if they are fixed and washed properly. RC papers on display may also show some "silvering out" eventually, but not usually within 2 years.

it has probably received more abuse light and temperature wise than the other prints, sort of an accelerated life test.

May toning revive it?
