Hi!

First I would like to say, is this the best forum ever?! GRRRREAT! Im sooo tired of digital and blown highlights and trying to "save" the blocked shadows asf.. Juck! Thank god for negatives!

So, Im buying a nice Imacon 646 to scan my Hasselblad color negatives. But, does anyone know how it will work on my Vista 64 PC? Is there any hardware that needs to be installed? How can I get a hold of the Flexcolor software? Is there any other software that will work with the Imacon Flextight 646? (No, silverfast does not support it)
What problems can or will I possibly encounter?

Thankyou!

If it is not coming with the software, you may be in a bit of a spot. You will need at least drivers to use any other software. I just cheked an Vuescan does not have it on a supported list (no big suprise). I don't see it on silverfast either.

Brace yourself for having to purchase the software.

check out this link.

flexcolor software is a free download, you should be able to get the latest version direct from hasselblad.

It requires an account to download and it doesn't mention anything about activation. I saw this while I was trying to find an answer this afternoon, hence my comment "brace yourself". It could be free, but most likely not.

Unless their policy has changed since I got my used PIII 4-5 years ago, the software is indeed a free download, though you will have to register.

Wow, that sounds great.

Thankyou everyone for all your help. If anyone has any more info on the subject, please let me know.

Thanks
