the easel is all rust though

Looks like mostly good stuff. The Paterson is a good system for processing 35mm/120 film. You trim the leader off your 35mm film, hold the reel with the film entry area at the top facing away from you, and start to feed the film into it while ratcheting the reel. I'm sure there's a video on youtube or something somewhere. Put the reels on the spindle inside it, and drop the funnel cover on and lock it into place.

yes its there but it seems you have to cut each neg in to ones
but then it dont seem to hold them right they slide about

Hi there, the paterson tank is just the latest of a series of excellent ones paterson made. I have scanned the instructions of my universal tank and will try to post them on here for you....enjoy your new toys! Phil

Hope this has uploaded properly, the only thing that may be different with your tank is the recommended quantity of developer, put the reel you want to use (no film in it!!!) in the tank, and add water until its 20-25mm over the top of the reel, then measure how much water there is, and that's how much developer/fixer you need! If you are doing different film sizes, you'll need to repeat this with the reel set to each film size you plan to use...Phil

You shouldn't have to cut the film into single frames. Is there a better pic of the negative carrier or could it be upside down?

The film should just hang out on the sides of the neg carrier.
