Hi, my name is Bill Smith, I trade under Uncle Bill on here. I was a member of APUG.org since 2006 and more recently took a couple of years off. I've been shooting seriously since the late 1990s and embrace the traditional darkroom and hybrid process. My go-to formats are 35mm and 120, tried 4x5 once, not my jam. I also by default collect cameras, I swear I'm done buying bodies, for now, lenses, however, another story.

I'm involved with The Classic Camera Revival Podcast as a co-host and a few Southern Ontario film photography groups on Facebook.

My photoblog is Fun With Cameras and I usually publish Monday and Wednesday mornings.

Welcome back, Bill. I am worried by your announcement of a return in respect of the apparently ever increasing speed of time. If someone had asked how long it had been since I last saw a post from you, I'd have said a few months but never two years. If that is how quickly two years have passed I haven't got long left in this world. :D

It's the quote from the movie Ferris Bueller says at the bottom of my post: "Life moves pretty fast if you don't stop and look around once and a while, you might just miss it."

Bill, I looked at your blog and really liked the tests with Efle 100, developed in Rodinal. Nice stuff. How did you select the Efke versus, for example, TMax 100 or Delta 100?

I shot Efke 100 a decade ago because I liked the old school to it, then strayed to Plus X, FP4 and Delta 100. Efke went bust back I think 2012, sad news but life moved on. Last year a Classic Camera Revival Co-hose and friend of mine found a Croatian seller moving Efke 100 expired in 2015 on Ebay last year, so I bought 20 rolls as a victory lap. These days my go to 100 ISO black and white films are FP4, Delta 100, Fomapan 100/Kosmo Mono 100, and Rollei RPX 100.

Are you talking about Alex Luyckx? I talk to him all the time, I'm on his podcast the Classic Camera Revival and he's still in Milton. Alex put together a thriving Toronto film photography group on FB.

I'm not into podcasts and film groups on FB. I'm just the only guy at local events with film camera, most of the time. And often the only person with film camera I would see if I walk from Exhibition to Union via Queen Street.
But maybe I have seen him. Some young guy in old Milton with film cameras twice. Second time he was with young lady and small child.
Once on Go train I was asked about my Leica. It was photographer from Ryerson, Mansoor, I think his name. He told me about public darkroom somewhere in Burlington or Oakville.

Please, mention Burlington Camera at your groups and podcasts. They have huge selection of enlargers for next to nothing, darkroom supplies, films, cameras and this part of the store is always empty. Just me and nobody else...
